About the role

We're looking for a Programme Manager to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.

You will be responsible for establishing and leading the Astute Submarine projects at Devonport including the planning and execution projects. The Astute programme manager will also lead the development and integration of the Astute Capability at Devonport to ensure full readiness to support the planned maintenance requirements.

Your additional responsibilities include:
• Responsible for Health, Nuclear, Radiological and Environment safety across the programme.
• Responsible for the monitor, control and delivery of the programme's projects to achieve strategic business objectives and meeting the cost, time and quality objectives.
• Managing the Customer Interfaces to deliver the programme objectives and ensure the customer requirements are achieved.
• Responsible for the allocations of financial, people and other resources to deliver the programme.
Creating the environment for the programme to be able to achieve including maximising the teams and individuals potential to succeed.

What do I need to do the role?
You will need experience and delivery of significant engineering projects and will need to be a practitioner in project management.

You will also require the following:
• Experience of the operations, refit or repair of Nuclear submarines desirable
• Experience in the management of submarine projects desirable
• Delivered a significant engineering project in a complex environment.

Finally, You will require the following qualifications:
• Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered engineer or equivalent
• Nuclear Plant Foundation Course
• Project management qualifications.

Location
This role is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard which is located in the vibrant city of Plymouth, Devon in the south west of England. Plymouth is a city with a long and proud military history and more than its fair share of heritage. About Devonport
