Engie Services Ltd are recruiting for a Porter/Messenger to be based in Greater London
This is a full-time role working 35 – 40 hours per week.
The main duties and responsibilities are:
- To collate, sort and place mail within mail room pigeon holes ready for collection and to process all outgoing mail. To change meeting rooms layouts and provide a porterage service.
- To provide messenger and porterage support to the contracts within the Central London Region as and when required.
- To keep a record of all incoming and outgoing recorded and special delivery items, including exhibits and ‘valuables’.
- To support with various logistics activities, including but not limited to, franking mail, cover duties, responding to telephone enquiries.
- To present a professional company image at all times. To wear the correct uniform and PPE at all times.
- To move items between and/or within buildings and sites e.g. furniture/boxes.
- To set up conference/meeting rooms.
- To carry out general portering duties across the buildings in an efficient and timely manner.
- To complete the relevant paperwork, with regards to the monitoring of the portering tasks in line with the Company’s procedures.
- To liaise effectively with the customer to ensure customer satisfaction.
- To start work promptly at the required shift time. To follow the correct company procedure for reporting sickness or absence.
- To follow the Company's Equalities Policies in relation to other staff, customers and members of the Group, at a level appropriate to the post.
- To comply with the company’s policies, management plans and procedures
- To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy Statement, Manual and Safe Systems of Work, COSHH Regulations, Assessments, Guidelines and Procedures. Seek advice from Managers / Supervisors / Team Leaders where necessary.
- To support and practice the Company's Quality Policy and Mission Statement.
- To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the department / service. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this job description
Qualifications
- A valid CTC clearance is essential
- Applicants will be subject to a 3 months probationary period
