About the role
Here at Babcock International we're in search of two Bid Manager's to join our team working on vast, complex Aviation bids ranging from £200M to in excess of £1B. Babcock's UK Military Air bid team is a newly formed function within the fastest growing sector of Babcock International Group. It's tasked with being the exemplar for bidding best practice, wining business in efficient and effective ways. With principal customers being the RAF, the Royal Navy, and the Army, its goal is to be the most successful bid team operating in the UK Defence Industry.
As the Bid Manager you will act as chief of staff on major complex bids, ensuring consistency of approach across a multi-function team while achieving milestones within the bid process. You'll Plan and manage the day-to-day bid effort on major complex bids, including governance, solution development and bid production ensuring bids adhere to customer schedule and target cost.
You will challenge the status-quo on our bid approaches to consistently deliver better savings and efficiencies than our competitors. The Bid Manager will convert pipeline opportunities into winning bids and profitable contracts that meet the Business Strategy and support corporate governance practices.
As well as working on some of the most high-profile projects in the UK we also offer a supportive work environment where innovation is at the heart of what we do.

What do I need to do the role?
You will have a demonstrable track record of winning highly complex bids including managing multi-disciplined teams and driving best practice across programmes.
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
Lastly, you'll need to be able to deploy good communication skills as you'll work closely with the client and our internal and external stakeholders.

- Appreciation of different cultures and backrounds.
Lastly, you'll need to be able to deploy good communication skills as you'll work closely with the client and our internal and external stakeholders.
What else do I need to know?
- Some UK travel may be expected in supporting sites.
- The role will be based in Bristol or Portsmouth.
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role and will also need to complete a medical assessment
