About the role:
An opportunity has arisen to join the next new design programme at Babcock DST as an Assistant Project Manager. This role will report directly into the Project Leader of the Programme and be responsible for a range of activities across the programme including tendering, developing manufacturing strategies and support to the integrated delivery team.

This programme presents an exciting opportunity to work alongside a high performing integrated project team who will setup and deliver the next Weapon Discharge System internationally as well as supporting development of future opportunities. The right candidate will need good analytical skills, willing to think outside the box - often independently - and develop various solutions to problems that can be presented to the leadership team.

What do I need to do the role?
We are looking for someone with a background in supporting structured project delivery, ideally with experience of project controls, supporting bids and tenders and a background in engineering / manufacturing. This role is highly visible so strong stakeholder management experience up to Director level would be beneficial, as would a recognised project management certification such as APM.

Skills Profile:
• Dedication to deliver on time. In full.
• Good research and analytical skills.
• Able to coordinate multiple work packages and people (indirect).
• Proficient use of Microsoft excel including a good understand of excel and preparing estimates and updating cost models and schedules.
• Good commercial and financial understanding.
• Good working knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing
