Job Details

The UK Protected Persons Service provides authorised protection to individuals judged to be at risk of serious harm. The UKPPS delivers specialist protection measures using both traditional methods and covert capabilities that are not replicated within UK Law Enforcement.

In this role, you work within a Protected Persons Unit (PPU) performing the covert finance function, supporting operational activity. It requires a flexible, self-motivated candidate with a working knowledge of finance practices with the ability to apply this to a discreet way of working.

Job description

The key responsibilities of this role include:
• Complete monthly and annual financial reconciliation processes on behalf of the PPU
• Work closely with your regional and national covert finance colleagues
• Manage the covert accounting structure including secure storage of sensitive information
• Act as the primary point of contact for all finance matters on behalf of the designated PPU areas and identify appropriate solutions
• Conduct regular reviews of current financial procedures to streamline and simplify processes
• Compile financial reports when required
• Assist management with financial reviews and audits asrequired
• Act as a point of contact for business and administration queries
• Provide secretarial support and attending meetings as and when required
• Perform efficient administrative duties, including coordination of office diaries and HR
 

Responsibilities

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following experience:

• Experience of working in an accounts/finance environment
• Experience of analysing information from a range of sources
• Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills
