Interim Data Analyst 

CGB is looking for an experienced Data Analyst who is able to turn programme management information into custom performance reports using the Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate for this position has experience in data architecture, ETL, and management in a cloud based environment as well as programming and statistical skills to turn data into useful business insights. We are also looking for someone with excellent communication skills to explain complicated analytical techniques to a variety of stakeholders.

Reporting to the VFM Manager (Programmes), you will be responsible for:

• VFM Reporting & Data Management
• Using cloud functions to import financial and delivery data from several sources into the Google
• Cloud Platform and BigQuery;
• Using SQL in BigQuery to analyse financial and delivery data from a VFM perspective;
• Creating VFM dashboards, reports and forecasts using Google Data Studio;
• Migrating existing reports & analysis from Excel and R into cloud-based reports using SQL;
• Identifying and implementing improvements to existing reporting tools and templates;

  Documentation & Training

• Creation of documentation and user guides for all dashboards and reports;
• Handover of all dashboards, reports and code to VFM team members;
• Providing training and knowledge transfer on reporting functionality to other team members;

Essential Requirements

• Data architecture in a cloud-based environment, ideally the Google Cloud Platform;
  SQL and at least one of R & Python;
• Data cleansing and handling, particularly large datasets from several sources;
• Using statistical methods to provide forecasting, modelling, and reporting;
• Ability to explain analytical techniques and outcomes to a variety of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical;
• Project management and planning skills

  Desirable Skills

• An understanding of contractual agreements and financial terminology will be beneficial;
• Telecoms marketplace and competition regulations – awareness of fibre and other ultrafast broadband technologies will be helpful but is not essential;
• An understanding of public sector procurement procedures and regulations
