Contract Digital Developer

(Java/NodeJS/REACT.JS/Junit/Restful APIs/Microservices/TDD/GIT)

4 month contract initially

Sheffield based with 1-2 days from home

Up to £600 per day *IN SCOPE/INSIDE IR35*

 

Based in Sheffield but with the chance to work a couple of days from home, our government client has an opportunity for a BPSS/DBS cleared Digital Developer.

 

You will plan and lead development on sets of related stories and build user-centred, open sourceRESTful web systems to serve a variety of citizen and government needs and be responsible for development of large areas of projects, or small projects in their entirety.

 

Skills required:

  • Care for code quality, and robust, easily-maintainable architectural solutions
  • Strong affinity for automated testing​pair programing​ and test driven development practises.
  • UNIX environments, bash
  • Good use of version control (Git)
  • Comfortable with HTML and CSS
  • Proven experience with NodeJS.
  • Solid understanding of concepts such as asynchronous programming, closures, types, and ES6.
  • Restful APIs.
  • Fundamental knowledge of creating progressive web applications with frameworks such as React.js, Vue, Angular, etc. (React is preferred)
  • Java 8+
  • Spring Boot
  • JUnit, Spock

As this contract role in *IN SCOPE/INSIDE IR35* you will need to work via an approved umbrella company for the duration of this contract.
