Our client are seeking an associate DevOps Specialist, the successful candidate will be required to developer various infrastructure solutions including Public Cloud eg. Azure and AWS, as well as datacenter / private cloud to deliver high availability, rapidly developed, fully automated solutions using predominately open source software which deliver value to the customer.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience with CI / CT / CD toolsets. You should have strong, hands-on experience in developing, implementing and testing robust CI / CT / CD pipelines in line with industry best practices.
  • A strong background working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCE. You should have extensive hands-on experience working with cloud services and technologies native to these environments.
  • Strong experience with CM tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef etc. You should have proven hands-on experience with writing / running Playbooks / Recipes / Manifests.
  • Extensive practical experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift or Docker. You will have proven, hands-on experience creating, deploying and managing containers and their underlying technologies including networking, storage, reliability, resiliency and availability.
  • Strong experience of scripting / programming languages such as SQL, Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl, C, C++, Java or PowerShell in an enterprise setting with a comprehensive understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong experience with implementing and managing monitoring systems such as ELK, Nagios, New Relic, Datadog, Splunk etc.
  • Good experience working with database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Postgres etc.
  • Ability to work with an Agile Team, being able to be self-driven and looking for continuous improvements to both the process and the systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail with a pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude to work.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical leadership, help and guidance to less experienced members of the team through mentoring, coaching, constructive review and active participation in various technical forums.
  • Advising our customers on the latest technologies and methodologies, designing and implementing innovative approaches to their problems using Automation.
  • Ensuring software standards are maintained, being able to train and mentor junior staff. Defining processes and procedures to ensure maximum re-use and maintaining standards.
  • Understanding security policies and implementing solutions that satisfy the security requirements.
  • Designing and implementing solutions which have high availability and are scalable.
  • Providing feedback and demonstrating to a wider audience solutions currently being developed and introducing the team to new concepts and products.
