Change Command is reponsible for managing and delivering a significant portfolio of change activity across the NCA and with partners. This activity is transforming how the NCA delivers its mission to cut serious and organised crime.

This role will focus on co-ordinating the delivery of an exciting and challenging build of key operational capabilities within the NCA.

Job description

Based from one of one our hubs in London or Bristol you will be working with internal and external stakeholders, business representatives and colleagues in Change and other enabling functions to:

- Help in the analysis of the NCA’s current information technology application estate and understand the operating context of each application (data, linked applications & versions, user profiles etc.)

- Assist in the development of the future application architecture for the NCA.

- Assist in the assurance, rationalisation and migration of NCA applications into their future end states.

- Analyse functional overlaps between applications to identify and drive rationalisation options.

- Develop and assist in the review of ICT architecture and application designs, to ensure compliance with NCA design principles and standards and industry good practice.

- Develop and assure design documentation including High Level Designs (HLD) and other associated documents where relevant.

- Assist in the development and maintenance of the applications strategy and roadmap to ensure these align with agency strategic direction.

- Participate in workshops and similar consultations with users and others to identify user needs.

- Look across the agency and externally to identify and learn from application architecture developments and trends.

- All NCA officers must hold SC Enhanced upon entry as a minimum. Failure to achieve SC will result in the job offer being withdrawn.

- You will also be required to undertake a mandatory pre-employment substance misuse test and achieve a satisfactory result
 

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will have broad information technology background combined with application architecture and development expertise together with a broad understanding of all architecture domains, and stakeholder and consultative skills.

- A practical understanding of application architecture, current application development and lifecycle methods and tools.

- The ability to work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical application designs. Creates an optimal design through an iterative process, aligning the user need with the system requirements and organisational objectives.

Additional Info:

- The NCA is a 24/7 organisation and working patterns must support business requirements. You may occasionally be asked to respond at short notice or outside of core hours but this it is not an essential requirement to do so.

- On occasions officers may be required to travel throughout the UK and overseas.

- NCA are able to offer these opportunities on a permanent and secondment basis.
