About the role
We're looking for an Office Manager to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.
You will be working as an Office Manager supervising a team of 2 administrators to provide administration and secretarial support to a range of Directors, Managers and projects onsite.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:-
• Management of the administration team delegating work as and when required
• Ensure cover is provided and all requirements of the Department are met
• Diary management for the Directors and their HoDs
• Participate in the recruitment process (Interviews, CV sifting)
• Complete PDRs for the administration team
• Mentoring new members of staff and Apprentices
• Collating and reporting on weekly safety performance data capturing trends and any learning opportunities
• Collation of a monthly questionnaire monitoring performance and customer relationships for various projects
• Organisation of agendas, action tracking and project documentation in support of various meetings
• Typing letters/reports/photocopying
• Booking travel including international
• Minute taking and distribution
• Managing the company switchboard to ensure there is adequate cover at all times and the relevant training is provided

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need Experience of managing and supervising a team along with knowledge of company procedures within an office environment.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
• Excellent MS Office skills
• A good understating of analysing data for capturing trends
• Effective written and verbal skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Time management skills
• Effective decision making/problem solving skills
• Excellent Interpersonal skills
• Experience in diary management

Lastly, you'll need the following qualifications:
• GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or equivalent
• NVQ L3 in Business and Administration or level 2 and be willing to work towards L3

What else do I need to know?
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
