Are you an experienced Safety professional in the Defence industry who is seeking an exciting new opportunity?

Our client is an independent management consultancy with offices in the UK and Australia. They are experts in the use of systems thinking, programme management, investment modelling and data analytics in government and business domains.

Due to the continued growth of our client's Safety division, they are looking for an experienced Safety professional to join their team. Ideally you will come from a Naval Systems Integration background. Initially the work will be on submarine platforms so some experience in this domain would be beneficial.

The role requires someone that has a background in safety but has a strong project/programme management skill set. The focus on the role will be to act as the "client friend" and be responsible for the delivery of the safety element of a new systems integration programme.

Essential Experience

*A background in Safety Engineering within the Defence industry or Submarine Platforms
*Project Management experience and knowledge
*Functional Safety knowledge
*Knowledge of Def Stan 00-056
*Awareness of ALARP principles
*Excellent communication skills with strong stakeholder management

Desirable

*Knowledge of JSP 430, POSMS and/or POEMS
*Ship Safety Management Training Course (SSMO)
*Knowledge and/or certificate in Safety Management Systems
*Systems Integration experience for Naval Platforms
*Experience of Submarines, Naval Weapon Systems or Naval Platforms, but would consider those with multi-platform experience in Defence industry
*Hazard Identification and Hazard Log Management experience (HAZID, HAZOP)
