About the role

Babcock are pleased to have opened up a post for a Support Technician at the Defence College of Technical Training at MOD Lyneham. This established training facility provides training of all levels to the Royal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers (REME) within the British Army. Currently this site offers over 150 types of course and every year trains over 10,000 students.

The successful candidate for this role will report into Training Delivery Manager and will work in a small and friendly team of three. The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support to trainers as well as trainees on a wide range of complex military equipment. The role is hugely varied and no two days will be the same as you play a key role in helping us develop the engineering capability of the British Army. In addition, there will be a degree of responsibility for health and safety, ensuring all electronic equipment is used in a safe manner. There will be a plenty of autonomy within that role and the working week is only 4.5 days (typically with Wednesday PM off).

What do I need to do the role?

In order to be considered, applicants must have a background in electronic engineering and knowledge of modern electronic fault-finding techniques. Familiarity with the military and education sectors will be an advantage although we welcome applicants from all sectors.

• NVQ level 3 in electrical/electronic engineering (or equivalent)

What else do I need to know?

• The successful candidate must be willing to go through a BPSS clearance.
