About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Technical Officer to manage a range of test and measurement equipment through CADMID lifecycle. You will also be responsible for calibration and repair, as well as engagement with Supply Chain.

The team consists of six (including Mechanical and Electrical) professionals with various technical backgrounds working across Army, Navy and Air Force specialising in weapon systems and fuel systems.
•Programme & Project Management: provide technical support for equipment throughout the Equipment lifecycle (CADMID).
•Integrated Logistics Support: provide technical support for Packaging, Codification, Ranging & scaling, Technical Publications, Documentation, Reliability and Maintainability Assessments.
•Equipment Support: provide technical support for Repair Management, Obsolescence Management, Configuration Control, Modifications, Defect Reporting, Calibration management, Asset Management, and product selection / user advice services.
•Inventory Management: provide technical support to the Inventory management team for capital equipment and consumable spares.
•Quality Management: provide technical support to the team to ensure compliance with the department and its suppliers (including UK and overseas calibration laboratories) as articulated by OIP who are the Engineering Authority and holder of Airworthiness delegation. Be prepared to undertake Quality Audits, locally or at supplier premises.
•Finance Management: provide technical support to the Engineering Leads who shall ensure delegated budgets are managed and maintained within levels of delegation, advising on the impact of changes, and ensuring timely and regular provision of financial information for reports. Provide scrutiny of Industry Invoice submissions for accuracy and contract adherence.
•Procurement Management: provide technical support to the Procurement Team to support programme and project requirements. Raising Business cases and Investment Appraisal as required to evaluate requirements as identified by the Business or Customer.

What do I need to do the role?
You will hold a relevant apprenticeship and come from an Engineering background (preferably Mechanical but can be Electrical), and a Military environment would be ideal.

You will have previous working experience in searching information out and passing back to the end user, and a good technical document understanding with the ability to read.

Test and Measurement equipment experience would also be desirable.
