Role Summary/Purpose:
    The Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer (CI ME), works closely with both operations & engineering teams in delivering measurable improvements across processes, people, products and technologies. The CI ME will lead and shape improvements across multiple manufacturing areas/disciplines and drive a culture of Lean, Six Sigma and world class manufacturing. The CI ME will be a change agent and provide support by helping the business solve some of their toughest challenges.
Essential Responsibilities:
    The Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and possess the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
  • Act as a change agent in the implementation of demand flow technology utilizing state of the art tools and methodologies
  • Establish and implement manufacturing processes, technology and capability development of Production strategies, programs, and practices to achieve world class manufacturing.
  • Providing engineering expertise to ensure the proposals developed to overcome processing problems are the best technical and engineering solutions and offer the highest likelihood of success.
  • Develop capability and change / programme management tools where they don't currently exist (i.e. MCRL). Establish methods to ensure timely introduction of new equipment and / or processes, in line with defined MRL and Toll Gate readiness processes.
  • Assist in the training, data gathering, and analysis, and Continuous Improvement
  • Financial management and preparation, development of manufacturing capability to support site growth playbook and related successful CapEx submissions.
  • Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the controlled method of product
  • Apply Brilliant Factory strategy and ethos, linking of digital & business systems.
  • Works together with business leadership at SPB level. Specifies needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done. Delivers products as part of a team. Works on cross functional teams. Alternatively: Leads analytical based capability selections and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
  • Continuously improving the standards and performance of process and plant on a long-term basis by utilising and implementing ideas from all sources, using influence to ensure to ensure best-fit engineering solution.
  • Leading the development of well-defined feasibility studies, justification & delivery schedules for projects.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Proven experience in Manufacturing and lateral problem solving
  • Customer focus and delivery orientated drive.
  • Some experience with Six Sigma
  • Detailed knowledge & working application of Engineering Standards.
  • Lean/ process improvement is crucial
    - 5s, Kanban, SMED, 8D and any other world class manufacturing principles
  • Experience in optimising production processes
