About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Lead Structural Engineer to join our Energy & Marine Division. Our core skills include naval architecture, systems engineering, multi-discipline design support and project management for new build and in-service commercial and defence vessels. Our state-of-the-art facilities offer world-class efficiency, scale and quality and our customers include: governments, international shipyards and ship owners and energy majors.

You will lead a team of Structural Engineers that support numerous and varied projects. With a diverse product portfolio in numerous markets, we offer an exciting opportunity to join an ever-growing business with longevity. Projects include; MoD contracts, Oil and Gas frameworks, Nuclear Decommissioning and Plant, International Naval contracts, Airports, Naval Manufacturing at our Innovation Centre and our Waterside Manufacturing Repair and Maintenance Facility.

As the focal point custodian, you will be promoting a culture of best practice and will personally coach and mentor members of the team. You will identify and develop the strategic capabilities (people, processes, methods and tools) to meet the business strategy and engineering requirements. You will support the Engineering Manager, to grow, support and provide leadership in developing discipline resource and processes for the business. The role will manage the allocation of discipline resource to tasks and projects.

What do I need to do the role?
You will need to have an Engineering or Science Degree with Structural/Civil Engineering experience.

We would also like you to:
• Be a Chartered Engineer and Corporate Member of a relevant Learned Institution, or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.
• Technical understanding and specialist input in areas of own expertise, ideally knowledge of Steel or Concrete
• Able to act as Engineering Lead with experience in the application of Design Governance Schemes also necessary.

• We are based at Rosyth, Scotland
• Permanent position with a competitive annual salary and excellent benefits.
• 37 hours per week
