About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join our Liquefied Gas Equipment (LGE) Division. We design and supply cargo handling systems for liquefied gas ships across the globe. LGE is an incredibly innovative and diverse business with patented designs working with LPG, LNG, Ethane, Ethylene and new projects with CO2.

Our Head Office is in Rosyth, with most projects mainly in South Korea and China at the biggest shipyards in the world. With a diverse product portfolio in numerous markets, we offer an exciting opportunity to join an ever-growing business with longevity. You will be part of an experienced and supportive team of Engineers and you will collaborate with numerous engineering departments.

You will support the design of process piping systems including all integrated mechanical equipment to satisfy client technical specifications. You will prepare technical datasheets, material lists, calculations, engineering reports and operating/installation/commissioning procedures. You will review and check piping isometrics, system drawings and bill of materials and support the development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) and evaluate vendor quotations for mechanical/piping equipment.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and have experience gained in a similar position ideally from a highly regulated industry, this could be from but is not limited to Defence, Pharmaceutical or Oil & Gas.

We would also like to you have:
• Experience of working to design codes ASME VIII, ASTM, BS and EN
• Experience of the following is desirable:
o Piping and piping components (valves, pipe supports, etc)
o Pressure vessels
o Hydraulic systems & equipment
o Mechanical process equipment (pumps, compressors, etc)
o Material selection
o Manufacturing/fabrication methods
o Structural design and analysis
o Vibration analysis and mitigation
o Pipe stress analysis
o Cryogenic piping applications

• We are based at Rosyth, Scotland
• Permanent position with a competitive annual salary and excellent benefits.
• 37.5 hours per week; 7:00am to 15:15 Monday to Thursday and 7:00am to 14:00 on Friday.
