This is a high profile role at the heart of the NCA Communications.
As Head of Internal Communications you will lead a high-performing team to proactively shape and deliver the strategy to engage, inspire and motivate the workforce.
Job description
• Provide expert professional communication advice and support to NCA senior leaders in their role to ensure staff and stakeholders are aware of the agency’s strategy, policy and reasons behind them.
• Lead on writing and editing key content on the NCA’s mission, values, strategic priorities, operating model, activities and performance and the steps to achieve them
• To collaborate widely in order to devise and refresh the NCA’s Internal Communication strategy, providing strategic and tactical advice
• To support the Head of Communications in coordinating external communications where appropriate, taking steps to build resilience and skill across the team.
• Support the development and delivery of internal digital and interactive communication channels and encourage the effective use of technology to target information and to improve two-way communication.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have significant communications experience at manager or senior manager level and the enthusiasm, interest and ability to grasp how to communicate to the law enforcement community.
Ideally you will have:
• Industry-recognised communication qualification (such as CIPR / IoIC) or equivalent.
• Membership of a professional communications body e.g. (Chartered Institute of Public Relations, Institute of Internal Communication)

Technical skills
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
- First-rate written and oral communication to maximise understanding and impact.
- Expertise in expressing ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, and appropriate to the audience.
- An innovative and creative thinker with the ability to develop communications solutions.
- Highly technical with the ability to use the latest software to deliver high-spec content, including audio, video and text.
