Head of PMO – Central Government Department

Reed Professional Services (RPS) has engaged with one of the key Central Government departments to work on a large and complex internal projects. In order to further compliment the team delivering these programmes, RPS have an exciting opportunity for a Head PMO to join our team of experts based in South London

Who will you be working for?

RPS provide project delivery and tailored PMO services, helping our customer’s projects go from concept to completion. Our project delivery services are custom tailored to meet individual needs, whilst drawing on broad market experience and proven methodology from a variety of sectors including Media, Banking and Central Government. We keep the end goal firmly in mind and can scale as in line with customer needs.

What will you be doing?

To focus on the delivery of projects and programmes within the Central government client. The main workload will be centred around the public protection technology portfolio. You will manage the PMO services by assuring and interpreting data, presenting information in dashboards, ensuring the integrity of the services and processes across the programme and developing the skills and capabilities across the team. You will also be responsible for identifying problem areas or bottle necks within the project and driving continuous performance improvement across the PMO function.

Successful applicants will also be responsible for delivery of services to the programme and portfolio that include, reporting and analysis, planning and dependencies, risk and issue management, assurance, change control and document management.

Below are the key skills that we are looking for in this PMO role:

• Experience: Heading up the PMO function in complex highly regulated environments, working with a government body, Programme and project management methodologies including Agile and PRINCE2, Overseeing and managing supplier resources.

• Skills: You’ll be an expert in delivering PMO support in a range of projects in a technical environment. Also, having awareness of commercial and financial management. Demonstratable experience of managing PMO’s in a complex environment and for large programmes, having the ability manage and develop PMO/PSO staff through management, facilitation of training sessions across all PPPT portfolio PMO service areas, creation of guidance, tools and inductions.
