At Atkins, we help our clients achieve genuine benefits from their business programmes. We advise at senior levels on complex business challenges, but also take a hands-on role to ensure the solutions are actually delivered and that the intended benefits of the investment are realised.

Atkins isn’t like other management consultancies. Because of our wider, real-world expertise – delivering transformative projects and making strategies happen across public and private sectors – we know how to implement change in practice, not just on paper. We’re there to see change through from start to finish, whatever challenges arise. Our clients value the fact the we deliver at pace using the latest Digital and Agile methods, whilst applying discipline and care around complex infrastructure and government programmes of national importance. In short, we deliver rapid results in the most challenging of environments.

Helping our clients change their businesses in response to internal and external influences and opportunities is a core skill for our Business Analysts. We work with clients to solve some of the most interesting challenges facing organisations today, from augmented reality to artificial intelligence. Our wide-ranging clients include central government, defence, airports, universities and infrastructure. The team comes from diverse backgrounds that cover the spectrum of services giving them an innovative and creative approach that is key to its success. Everyone in the team is passionate about their work and the value that they can deliver.

Atkins set high standards of integrity and ethics for our people. When joining Atkins, you benefit from a working environment that prioritises integrity and we also expect each individual who joins us to display these characteristics.

The role
You will be given significant responsibility and exposure to our clients and be expected to act as an ambassador for our business. You will be accountable for the overall quality and timeliness of the delivery of assignments and the role may also require you to lead an Atkins team responsible for specific project outputs.

Our consultants are also expected to help develop and grow our business. This may include contributing to bids or managing a bid team, and developing new business propositions or researching potential new markets. We want you to help us grow our business by:
• Managing and working within multi-disciplinary teams (at our clients’ premises and in our Atkins’ offices) to deliver excellent results for or clients.
• Leading the analysis of processes and operations, using appropriate tools and techniques to identify improvements and/or efficiencies in accordance with client objectives. This will include facilitating workshops to engage people, gathering inputs to your analysis and sharing emerging ideas and conclusions.
• Preparing reports and presenting to a range of client stakeholders.
• Contributing to the development of Operational Improvement tools, techniques and methods that can be shared to build capabilities within our Operational Improvement team and Business Consulting practice.
• Contributing to sales – including bid development and sales presentations to clients.
• Supporting the development and delivery of marketing campaigns.

We are looking to grow our team and are looking for people across two main roles:

About you
You may have started your career at another consultancy and are looking to move somewhere with a different approach more tailored to client need. The successful candidate will be given significant responsibility for client-facing work from day one. All our consultants are expected to have regular interactions with clients, to lead work-streams or projects, and to support senior colleagues in delivering specific project outputs. Practice and service development
You are an excellent team player with the ability to communicate and engage at all levels with a variety of stakeholders
You can demonstrate an ability to transfer skills and knowledge to colleagues
You are proactive in your approach to work and enjoy working with a variety of people as well as being comfortable with progressing work independently

Business development
You either have experience or potential to support or contribute to the sale of Business Consulting work – including bid development and presentation delivery
You have strong commercial acumen and are comfortable with managing bids and end to end assignment financial management

Additionally, you will display the following characteristics;
A passion for developing technically, professionally and behaviourally
A collaborative team-player who delivers great results and operates to high behavioural standards and business ethics
An ability to deal with competing tasks and operate successfully even when under pressure
