The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen within MBDA’s Industrial Policy, Global Supply Chain and Procurement (ISP) organisation for an experienced engineer to join a department responsible for Company Industrial Policy and Supply Chain Management, with a specific focus within a programme to lead Industrial Validation of supplied equipments.
 
What are we looking for?

The Industrial Manager for Supplied Equipments is responsible for the planning, monitoring and validation of a sustainable equipment supply chain, ensuring suppliers develop robust manufacturing systems capable of delivery on time and on quality during series production. This encompasses:
  • Supporting a Project Team to shape the Supply Chain and develop Industrial workshare.
  • Strategic planning and leadership of a project Industrial Validation Plan for supplied equipments, and the flow Industrial Requirements into Statements of Work.
  • Evaluate, develop and accept Supplier proposals, specifically related to supplier manufacturing & industrial plans.
  • Monitor, support and evaluate the development and validation of Supplier manufacturing systems.
  • Undertake Industrial Validation activities such as; Process FMEAs, Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments, Product Acceptance, Production Readiness Reviews etc to ensure that robust and comprehensive industrial solutions are developed and available for series production.
  • This role forms part of the multi-functional team managing development and delivery of supplied equipments, requiring close working with MEP, Manufacturing and Quality organisations.

The Role
 
Member of a project team, with specific accountability for planning, monitoring and acceptance of equipment supplier industrial validation during the development.
Key responsibilities:
  • Support Project Team to shape the Supply Chain and develop Industrial workshare.
    • Ensure make-buy and industrial policies are applied in early phase of projects.
    • Provide supplier performance, capability and risk assessment, with support from Supply Chain Management.
  • Lead, for supplied equipments, Project Industrial activities up to Validation Manufacturing Systems “VMS”, in support of MEP and the Head of Manufacturing.
    • Ensure the development and implementation of Supplier Manufacturing Inspection and Test architectures and processes in line agreed Supplier manufacturing plans.
    • Manage and report on Supplier non-conformance during development, track to closure agreed improvement/corrective actions.
    • Facilitate operational involvement of suppliers during development to promote co-specification methodologies across projects.
  • Provide bid for Suppliers Industrial Manager costs into Manufacturing work package estimate and contribute to monthly time now updates and regular Cost at Completion reviews.
  • Direct, coach and lead less experienced colleagues.
