Role Summary/Purpose:
    The Program Management Office supports our product development programs by providing financial, Risk and Opportunity management, facilitation and reporting to the customer and business stakeholders. The PMO leader role is accountable for the performance of the team, development of its people and capabilities and strategy for more effective program delivery.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Managing the deployment of PMO team on programs, responding to requests for support etc as part of resource management. Develop core strength and experience within team. Work with the program management teams to identify areas for improvement within the program and match any skills to the skill gaps.
  • Setting and managing team priorities aligned with the Power business objectives. Using the Performance Management toolset (PD) to manage aspects of individual performance including career development, identifying talent and addressing performance shortfalls.
  • Working with key stakeholders to define and execute a strategy for improving program delivery in Power, including identifying efficiency, planning, implementing change and driving the culture of accountability.
  • Actively participate in business strategy as part of the Project Management and Operations function, engaging with all levels of the power business
  • Provide mentorship to junior project controllers to aid them in their career development. Identify career routes into PMO (early careers) and also into programs (development of PMO team members into junior program managers.
  • Implementation of best practice across the power business and wider Cheltenham campus, working within the established processes and tools. Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency through the deployment of both existing and potential alternative tools.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business management from an accredited university/college or similar level of experience in a Program Management Office
  • Established team leadership experience, including all aspects of performance management, career development and building team capability. `
  • Extensive experience of complex program or project activities including planning, financial analysis and risk management
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
