About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Building Services Technician to work at a London Fire Brigade Training Facility, which is a state of the art centre that runs urban search and rescue, incident command and fire training.

You will provide Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance of the site whilst ensuring that company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.

The site is complex and interesting and will provide an enjoyable challenge for technicians that would like to work in a new environment. This world class venue features a four storey zero-emission fire house which allows firefighters to carry out fire and breathing apparatus training in a range of challenging real fire scenarios. This includes simulating fires in houses and commercial buildings and basements.
The centre, which covers 4,000 square metres and will run around 500 training courses a year, also provides a tower for ladder and line rescue training as well as classroom facilities.
With 60 square feet of solar panels to generate electricity, a green roof with vegetation layers to give insulation, chimneys to provide the building with natural wind ventilation and a system to recycle and reuse water used in training, the training centre's green credentials are second to none.

As the systems are unique, all training will be provided to ensure you have the necessary skills to be successful in the role, including gaining new qualifications. You will also responsible for two operatives, managing the volume and quality of their daily work.

What do I need to do the role?

You will need to have experience of building services of either Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Gas or HVAC and hold appropriate qualifications.
We are looking for someone who is keen to learn and develop their skills further and build a career within this area.

We would also like you to have the following:
  • Health and Safety Qualification
  • Leadership skills and experience

What else do I need to know?

  • Mon to Fri, 40 hours per week.
  • Training and development opportunities
