Storage and Backup Design Expert

TASKS:

• Full life cycle storage, backup, FC, FCoE and iSCSI network engineering: architecture , design, administration, support including storage utilizations/capacity planning and adjusting requirements as well as monitor and audit system utilization, and performance
• Modifications and changes to the storage and backup infrastructure/design/configuration by following proper Change Management processes
• Perform daily Storage, Backup Engineer activities including management, zoning, provisioning, troubleshooting, and debugging
• Participate/perform in root cause analysis for significant problems and suggests clear recommendations for improvements
• Schedule, coordinate and lead planned downtimes
• Accurately update comments and status to tickets via ticketing system
• Participate in on-call activities
• May need to work on scheduled maintenances, service-affecting activities and contingency work outside of regular business hours

REQUIREMENTS:

• Master Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and four (4) years’ experience; or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and six (6) years’ experience; or Major Certification (e.g. Dell-EMC, NetApp, HPE Storage) and seven (7) year experience; or no degree/certification and eleven (8) years’ experience.
• Hands-on experience of Dell-EMC Unity, XtremeIO, Data Domain, Avamar (formerly EMC) and NetApp (FAS, AFF, File/Block) storage solutions
• Certification in one or more of the following Dell-EMC certifications: DCE-IE (Avamar), DCS-IE (Dell EMC Unity, Data Domain XtremIO, Avamar), DCS-SA (Avamar), DCS-TA (XtremIO)
• Hands-on experience with Dell-EMC and NetApp data management architectures
• Hands-on experience on data replication and data protection technologies on Dell-EMC (Native Synchronous Block Replication, Native Asynchronous Block and File Replication,
• Dell EMC® RecoverPoint) and/or NetApp (Snapmirror, Snapvault, Snapmanager for SQL/Oracle/Exchange/Share Point, SnapCenter Suite, VSC)
• Hands-on experience of SAN/NAS Network fundamentals (TCP-IP, FC, FCoE, iSCSI, WWN, WWNP, LIFS)
• Hands-on experience on fabric switches (Brocade and/or Cisco), Fiber Channel (FC)
• networking
• Hands-on experience with VMware virtual environments
• Hands-on experience on Windows servers, Actıve Directory, DNS
• Able to document current design&configuration and to develop/maintain Standard
• Operation Procedures/Instructions and training guidance
• ITIL Service Operation knowledge

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certification in NetApp/HPE SAN technologies (NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer—SAN Specialist, ONTAP, NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer—Data
• Protection Specialist or HPE Master ASE – Storage Solutions Architect V2)
• Experience in using backups tools e.g. Veeam, Comvault, Veritas Netbackup
• Experience on 3Par Storages
• Scripting (Python, Power-Shell, etc.) for Storage Automation or collect data/event from storages
• BMC/ITSM Ticketing system
• ITIL certification
