This specialist role provides an exciting opportunity to join the NCA’s high performing Communications Team.

Job description

As Internal Communications Manager you will support delivery of the NCA’s communications strategy – building public and partner confidence, enhancing the intelligence picture and disrupting criminals operating at the high end of high risk, engaging officers with our mission and supporting them through organisational change
You will:
• Support the Head of Internal Communications in helping to deliver the National Crime Agency’s internal communication strategy.
• Lead a small team responsible for providing internal communications advice and support to NCA leaders and officers, contributing to effective communication and engagement within the agency
• Manage internal communication plans, including deploying resources and managing risks.
• Provide support and clarification to junior members of the team to ensure they are confident in delivering key messages
• Analyse and segment internal audiences to target communication effectively.
 

Responsibilities

Ideally you will have:
• Experience in a communications role of turning complex information into meaningful, easy-to-read, messaging
• Experience of finding ways to improve leaders’ accessibility and support them in their two-way communication with officers.
• Experience of managing teams and working groups, the delivery of communication plans, content, channels and events.
• Experience of working on own initiative in a fast-moving and high-risk environment.


***All NCA officers must hold SC Enhanced upon entry as a minimum. To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years. For more information please see the Candidate information Pack***

 

Technical skills

We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • A sound understanding of how to research, design and deliver communications plans.
  • An ability to use data and other forms of insight to shape the design and approach of internal communications.
  • A strong understanding of different stakeholders and how to reach them.
  • Experience of managing change programmes or staff communication strategies.
  • An ability to design and implement measurable digital communication plans.
  • Management skills; you will be exceptionally well organised with a sharp attention to detail.
