The location of this role is flexible to be based at any NCA site but will require to spend 3 days a week in London.

This is a high profile role at the heart of the NCA Communications.
As Strategic Communications Manager, you will lead the way we engage and motivate the agency and drive performance through innovative comms

Job description

You will:
• Lead and manage horizon scanning and suite of Strategic Comms products.
• Oversee and develop audience driven, evidence based integrated marketing and communication plans in support of NCA priorities, underpinned by robust evaluation.
• Spearhead a revised approach to stakeholder engagement
• Respond efficiently and effectively to commissions from senior leadership.
• Develop working groups across Whitehall to ensure that NCA communications plans reflect strategic priorities.
• To take on further planning and media duties as required
• Drive and deliver corporate offers for the team including line management and coaching.
 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have significant communications experience at manager level and the enthusiasm, interest and ability to grasp how to communicate to the law enforcement community.

Ideally you will have:
• Practical understanding of emerging Industry-recognised communication qualification (such as CIPR / IoIC) or equivalent)

***All NCA officers must hold SC Enhanced upon entry as a minimum. To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years. For more information please see the Candidate information Pack***

Technical skills

We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • A track record in the leadership, delivery of effective communications and/or engagement on a large scale.
  • An understanding of the bigger policy picture and emerging socio-political trends.

Security

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

Successful candidates will be expected to have a medical.
