Ground Support Equipment Technician

About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Ground Support Equipment Technician to carry out cost effective repairs and maintenance tasks on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, to a high standard and in a timely and efficient manner, whilst complying with company policies and procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity working at Edinburgh airport with potential wider opportunities within Babcock for the right individual.
What do I need to do the role?
You will be qualified to at least one of the following;
You will also have the ability to work under pressurised conditions and possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
You will hold a full UK driving licence and a valid Airside pass, or at least be eligible.
An LGV / PSV Licence would be desirable, as would a background in an Aviation or Transport industry.
What else do I need to know?
This role may be considered for flexible working.
Additional overtime available for weekend call-outs and 1 in 4 weekends plus overtime rate for time worked. There will also be a requirement for nights/weekend work in the case of any winter weather events.

- Nationally recognised Automotive Apprenticeship in Vehicle Repair or Technology
- City and Guilds Automotive Vehicle Servicing and Repair or Craft Studies Level 1,2,3
- BTEC diploma in Motor Vehicles
- NVQ 3 in Heavy Motor Vehicle or Plant Maintenance and Repair
