Communications Manager

Job Title: Communication Manager

Contract: 10 Weeks +

Location: Birmingham

Contract type: Full-time (Inside IR35)



The key responsibilities are to:
*Support the Principal on the delivery of the communications and engagement programme associated with the price review.
*Co-ordinate the multi-channel communications activities for the final determinations announcement.
*Maintain excellent working relationships within Corporate Communications and the programme team acting as a central point of contact for the two teams.
*Working to develop key messages for the programme ensuring messages are tailored for the relevant audiences
*Provide high quality, specialist communications advice to colleagues.
*Proactive in identifying potential issues and designing programmes of work to address and overcome them
*Provide support and advice as needed to colleagues within the corporate communications pool
*Engage with colleagues to understand often complex, technical policy and turn this into accessible, compelling key messages in a variety of written formats.

Skills Required
Critical:
*Experience of supporting complex multi-channel communications campaigns or announcements with multiple audiences, both B2B and B2C.
*Experience of working with government bodies.
*Ability to translate complex policy and technical documents for broader audiences and to write in clear and accessible language ,often to short timescales.
*Demonstrable experience of providing media and policy/presentation briefing and guidance to colleagues.

Desirable:
*Experience of working in a regulated industry.
*Experience of working in the water sector.
*Experience of working with public bodies and private industry
*Experience of helping to deliver communications on a national scale
*Experience of press handling and social media.
