Role Summary

To manufacture products for the Aerospace Industry to fulfill customer requirements using process specification documents and customer drawings.

Hours of work

Friday: 2.00pm - 10.00pm
Saturday: 9.00am - 9.00am
Sunday: 10.00am - 10.00am

Reports to: Team Leader / Module Manager

Core Responsibilities

  • To work unsupervised in the manufacture of Aerospace parts, ensuring that all tooling and materials are of the required quality standard, including trimming and finishing.
  • To carry out advanced activities, e.g. mixing, following process procedures, metal prep, produce BAS sleeves, bellows with multiple convolutions or similar when required.
  • To build complex parts using SFS and routing data also using customer drawing.
  • To understand and contribute to the delivery of the modules key KPIs.
  • To be responsible for and to identify tooling issues and carry out any activity to rectify issues to avoid inferior quality or defective parts i.e. scrap being produced.
  • To participate in problem solving.
  • To understand and be responsible for own health and safety and that of colleagues within the workplace.
  • To comply with all EHS, Quality and Company policies and procedures at all times.
  • To practice good housekeeping and workplace organisation.
  • To attend Daily Layered Accountability (DLA) meetings.
  • To use the correct measuring equipment e.g. Vernier, rule or tape.
  • To set, operate and check relevant machinery e.g. ovens, presses, lathes, calendars etc.
  • To undertake any other duties as requested by Line Manager.
  • To undertake training as required by attending training courses or on the job training to assist in your personal continuous development and performance.
  • To liaise and work with all personnel within the manufacturing module and other departments.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field

Skills:
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools including calipers, depth gages, micrometers, and other measuring equipment, and machinery
  • Ability to read various instructions
  • Abe to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills
