Marine Engineering Technician

Our client is a national market leader in the fields of marine defence and nuclear engineering and enjoys the backing of a large international group. They are well respected within their specialised industries and present interesting challenges to meet specific cutting-edge design requirements. You'll be part of a large production function working on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, for the Royal Navy and international clients.

As Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out strip inspection and repair including hydraulic, pneumatic, and load testing of marine mechanical and electrical assemblies to accommodate high level of activity on various contracts.

You'll need to have previous fitting/assembly/build experience, within a medium or heavy engineering environment and hold either an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or the equivalent qualifications.

This role will be based in Bristol.

Your skills and experience need to include:

Understanding of detail strip, rebuild and pressure/load test of hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies.
Excellent written communication and good understanding of IT skills (word, excel).
Good working knowledge of Health and Safety (COSHH, Manual Handling, Lifting and Slinging).
Ideally you will be a time served apprentice, ex-military technician, or engineer with marine experience.
