Major Crime Investigative Support - NID Advisor

Servoca Resourcing Solutions are in search of an MCIS NID Advisor to work for the NCA on a temporary contract basis.

Role Overview

This is a specialist post supporting and advising law enforcement and forensic practitioners on injury causation and forensic medical issues using a unique worldwide service - the National Injuries Database - both nationally and internationally. It is part of a critical national service as designated by the Home Secretary.

Key Responsibilities

• To manage/supervise a team responsible for the acquisition and development of tactical and strategic intelligence and/or prevention initiatives focused on serious and organised crime affecting the UK.
• Provide operational support, advice and guidance to police throughout the UK into the investigation of serious crime.
• To support and assist with the instruction and sourcing of the relevant medical and forensic experts for evidential opinions for court.
• To assist with the development of the National Injuries Database and to quality assure all cases that are inputted onto the NID by the Case Support Officers and Placement Students as well as the Child Death Database - Operational Marshall.
• To present the services of the National Injuries Database team to law enforcement and forensic practitioners both nationally and internationally.

Essential Criteria

• A Forensic Science Degree or equivalent crime scene / major crime experience.
• Experience of a major or serious crime investigation and the forensic specialisms involved.
• Experience of analysis, research and interpretative skills including the use of a database.
• Proven experience of supervising a team and working to tight deadlines.

Location: Wyboston, Bedfordshire

Hours: Part Time - Thursday & Friday Only

Contract Length: 12 Months Initially

Pay Rate: £18.18 PAYE - £24.53 UMBRELLA
