Role Summary/Purpose:
    In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to the Value Stream Leaders and ensure Lean transformation is a key aspect of long-term planning and overall business strategy. You will be a champion of Continuous Improvement & guide GE Aviation Production System (GEAPS) Leaders in operational & business process improvement. In addition, you will bring a seasoned & deep understanding of Lean, Six Sigma & process improvement concepts, approaches & methodology.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Drive a GEAPS-based learning environment that focuses on strategy, culture, and Lean & robust processes that will lead to the desired future state
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Executive Value Stream Leaders
  • Ensure strategic elements from GEAPS are reflected in the strategies of the business and Value Streams
  • Lead and be the voice of GEAPS Leaders to ensure no barriers exist in performing their tasks of identifying and implementing process improvements within the Value StreamsChampion a culture of Continuous Improvement and be a Lean change agent for the Value Streams
  • Confirm that GEAPS, operational and business process improvements, and Lean transformation are integrated into the overall strategies of the Value Streams and the Growth Playbook
  • Support Continuous Improvement aspects of the Growth Playbook and policy deployment and ensure that specific goals and priorities are achieved throughout the Value StreamsPresent product / program strategies, Lean roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders across the Value StreamsTrain Executive Value Stream Leaders and Value Stream GEAPS Leaders in the concepts, tools, and application of process improvement, Lean Six Sigma, value stream mapping, one-piece flow, Action Workouts, Kaizen, 5s, Hoshin Kanri, and other Lean tools
  • Ensure Lean Academies are conducted in each of the Value Streams
  • Identify training deficiencies and work with Value Stream GEAPS Leaders to help develop a plan to stand up a strengthened Lean organization across the businessPrepare for, participate in, and follow up on action items from OMRs
  • Share best practices from the GEAPS COE team with the Value Streams to ensure standardization of Continuous Improvement processes (and vice versa)
  • Drive Lean activities at a global or local level including methods, tools, roadmap systems, collaboration, and deployment
  • Manage industrial improvement projects including process improvement, green field, and localization of manufacturing activities (e.g., Lean Academy, action work-outs)Team with Executive Value Stream Leaders and Value Stream GEAPS Leaders in selecting and scoping projects that align with overall business goals and strategies
  • Solve complex technological issues by developing new solutions that require usage of methods and approaches with some precedence
  • Identify, select, train, and develop GEAPS leaders
  • Spend roughly 80% of time on strategic elements and 20% of time on tactical elements
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Strong experience in manufacturing operations (Including experience driving process improvement)
  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
  • Ability and willingness to travel over 50% of the time

  • Six Sigma Black Belt or MBB certification preferred
  • Deep knowledge of Lean methodologies, tools, and practices including visual controls, standard work, performance metrics, work center metrics, and Continuous Improvement processes and be able to instruct others in these areas
  • Experience in project management, policy deployment, and digital metrics (e.g., benefits identification, reporting, and tracking)
  • Proficient at clearly defining, analyzing, and resolving problems and process weaknesses and then applying a formal root cause corrective action methodology
  • Results-based leadership style with strong impact and influencing skills
  • Ability to translate actions into operational results and business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
