Role Summary/Purpose:
    An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Power Systems and Software Test Equipment group. As a Senior member of the team you will be responsible for architecting and/or maintaining new or existing Test equipment software solutions for our Aviation Power product programmes. You will demonstrate independence and sound technical judgment, identify and breakdown complex problems and formulate solutions.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for architecting new test equipment software solutions and incorporating new requirements into existing solutions
  • Develop Test Equipment Software to Production standards complying with all regulatory and safety requirements
  • Responsible for the full software life cycle
    - from initial requirements through to formal software release and support
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Mentor junior / less experienced engineers
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organisational initiatives and engineering issues
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned project and/or tasks inline with engineering policies and procedures #LI-SM1
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Experience of using National Instruments Test Stand and/or CVI for software development
  • Software Architectural Design
  • Must be willing to learn new programming languages, including National Instruments CVI
  • Technical leadership experience
  • Experience with configuration / change management tools
  • Debugging/fault finding
  • Working on Production solutions
  • Hardware / Software integration experience
  • Experience working on engineering initiatives within the wider engineering business
  • Providing guidance to less experience engineers
  • Excellent communication skills to team, peers and all levels of management
