About the role
Here at Cavendish Nuclear we are looking to recruit a Project Manager to work within our central PMO office. Working within our approved management system you'll provide full end-to-end delivery on projects up to the value of £5m or support Senior Project Managers on larger and more complex workstreams.
This is a true project management post that will see you take responsibility for resource management, budget and risk reporting, project reporting, customer stakeholder management and sub-contractor management. This will include tasks such as:
What do I need to do the role?
First and foremost we'd like you to hold an engineering related qualification, with a HND or HNC being the minimum level. You'll also naturally need to have a background in Project Management earned in an appropriate engineering environment, such as Process Engineering, Oil & Gas, Civil Engineering or Nuclear.

- Working with customers and internal stakeholders to define delivery programme baselines and project control processes (requirements capture, planning, cost, risk, trend analysis and change control)
- Ensuring projects are delivered to cost, time and QEH&S targets
- Maintaining gross margins and achieving customer satisfaction through the deployment of project teams and effective team working
- Being responsible for the management of staff and identifying development and training opportunities
What do I need to do the role?
First and foremost we'd like you to hold an engineering related qualification, with a HND or HNC being the minimum level. You'll also naturally need to have a background in Project Management earned in an appropriate engineering environment, such as Process Engineering, Oil & Gas, Civil Engineering or Nuclear.
You'll also need to evidence:
- Leadership and Management experience gained as an Assistant Project Manager (APM) on medium to low complexity and risk projects.
- Management experience across the complete project lifecycle or significant phases
- Commercial experience in the application of various forms of supply contracts (e.g. NEC).
- Membership of the Association of Project Management (APM) or equivalent - such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), Qualification APMP or Certified Associate in Project Management
- All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
