We are looking for an experienced IT Delivery Manager to join our client - a leading defence technology provider - to manage and deliver a range of tasks and projects that fall within the Delivery portfolio currently undertaken by a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled technical team.

You'll come from a hands-on technical background and have experience in matrix-managing a portfolio of software development projects in a fast-moving Agile environment. You'll be working on a variety of exciting and interesting projects and no two days will be the same!

You should have:

• Proven ability to manage an operational team developing skills and capability to meet upcoming demand. Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team and coaching technical staff to improve performance and customer experience.
• The ability to inspire and motivate at the individual level, ensuring business values and behaviours are demonstrated.
• Experience of cross-platform, enterprise level IT security requirements and an understanding of current cyber security methods and threats.
• Experience in managing IT Services in line with best practice, recognised industry standards and frameworks such as TickITplus, ISO27001 and ITIL.
• Deep experience and understanding of managing and maintaining secure and stable IT systems.
• Experience and understanding of front end, middle tier and back end application design patterns.
• Experience in technology/product/framework selection (COTS verses bespoke, build verses buy, cloud verses on premise etc.) when presented with conceptual requirements or designs.
• Effective verbal and written communications with experience of communicating with a range of technical and non-technical audiences, internal staff and customers.
• Ability to adapt to a diverse and changing business and to work flexibly to accommodate the needs of projects and customers.

Desirable Skills / Experience:

• Career experience in Software Engineering/Software Development, across the full software development lifecycle and technology stack
• Experience in the recruitment of, retention of, and the ongoing career development of software engineering professionals
• ITIL Foundation or higher (or equivalent framework) certification
• Previous experience in the defence industry sector
• Experience working within an ISO27001 environment
