Lifting Gear Engineer / Fitter
Newton, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £29,000 + Benefits
About the role
As a Lifting Gear Engineer for Babcock, you'll be based predominantly from our National Distribution Centre in Newton, Nottingham, providing maintenance and inspections for a variety of lifting equipment prior delivery for our operational sites located around the country.
The role will report into the Stores Foreman, which this position involves inspecting, repairing, servicing and calibrating lifting equipment and accessories in accordance with PUWER and LOLER legislation.
You'll require a high attention to detail and accuracy to ensure inspection and test certification is filled out correctly prior dispatch, as all the equipment that's managed and issued from the NDC is a safety-critical.
This role will involve occasional UK-wide travel to support the projects, however accommodation and transport will be provided in these instances.
What do I need to do the role?
To qualify for this role you will have a good level of knowledge and experience with maintaining and inspecting lifting equipment. Experience with Pullifts, Tirfors, general lifting accessories, LEEA and Telehandler / FLT would be advantageous but not essential.
What else do I need to know?
This role may be considered for flexible working.
Additional training can be provided for the successful candidate.
