Reed Professional Services are supporting the UK Government to ensure they are prepared to exit the EU.

Who will you be working for?

RPS provide project delivery and tailored PMO services, helping our customer’s projects go from concept to completion. Our project delivery services are custom tailored to meet individual needs, whilst drawing on broad market experience and proven methodology from a variety of sectors including Media, Banking and Central Government. We keep the end goal firmly in mind and can scale as in line with customer needs.

What will you be doing?

As a core member of RPS’s Project Management Team, we are seeking a Service Manager to work onsite with our client who are a Central Government Organisation to aid their programme to deliver Business change.

The Service Manager will be working closely with the Service Management lead within the client to facilitate the handover of projects into the BAU environment.  The Service management Team ensure that the BAU support organisation have everything they need in readiness for the launch of high-profile digital services.  The role involves coordination and participation in Service transition and business readiness activities as well as liaising with technical leads, testers, developers, business analysts and project managers and ensure that knowledge transfer is completed in a timely and consistent manor.

To be considered, please have the following in regard to:

Experience: Demonstrable experience of running a service previously, preferably within central government or for a consultancy.  You will have experience of Acceptance into service and a background of problem solving, including technical problem solving to meet business requirements. You should have experience of creating end to end process maps as well as analysing information.

Skills: You will be able to make senior decisions and be aware of governance as well as skills in coaching and providing guidance for project teams. You will ideally have worked in an Agile environment.

The role will be based in Worcester, Worcestershire or Crewe, Cheshire Full time with some travel required to other of the client’s locations.
