Role Summary/Purpose:
    We are looking for innovative development engineers to work within our Emerging Technologies Group based in Cheltenham, UK. In this role you will be responsible for developing system solutions and implementing new technologies which will define our next generation of avionic controller and display system products. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team building proof of concept demonstrators. The work will support our product development aligned with our product and technology roadmaps.
Essential Responsibilities:
    This role will be responsible for developing, guiding and demonstrating technologies to Technology Readiness Level 6 including advanced prototypes for the next generation of displays and controllers' products. The selected candidate will work directly with the Cheltenham product groups and alongside engineering groups as part of a multidisciplinary team. In this position you will be responsible for identifying and developing technical expertise, through the implementation of new and emerging technologies from avionics and adjacent industries. The selected engineer will use technical expertise, development skills and in-depth knowledge of software engineering to play a leading role as part of the advanced technology team developing next generation products. Some of the key responsibilities are:
  • Technical understanding the avionic product lines, specifically remote I/O and displays products
  • Maintain and grow system technical expertise
  • Understand and assess latest industry developments
  • Propose and implement technical solutions to project challenges within project budget and time constraints
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, scope and schedule estimation and risk and opportunity analysis for identified work packages
  • Interface with all engineering disciplines to ensure continuity, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Provide technical assistance and support to other team members and projects
  • Represent the company on collaborative projects and at industry events such as conferences and working groups
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in aerospace engineering, computer science, software engineering or physical sciences / engineering
  • Proven industrial experience
  • Capability to become a leading technical expert;
  • Enthusiasm and passion for new technology and innovation
  • Good problem-solving and creative, solution-building skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
