Note:
*The client prefers candidates to already possess an active SC clearance but will consider candidates who are prepared to obtain such a clearance prior to starting the assignment.
Minimum Requirement:
Essential:
Completed user interface based projects using JAVA, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML and other related languages
Prepared and executed Unit Tests
Familiar with and has evidence of using Continuous Integration (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
Use of databases and SQL
Very good soft skills and an ability to communicate to and influence various audiences, in person or in writing
To be productive in a very short time and to not to be an additional overhead to the team
Desirable:
Knowledge of Agile, specifically SCRUM
Knowledge of latest Accessibility guidelines when programming
Familiar with mainframe databases, especially DB2
Some exposure to Land Registry applications or similar Central Government designed and developed software (DVLA, Met Office, MOJ etc.)
Description:
The Role
To contribute to the development and implementation of a customer facing web-based software solution through the production of high-quality code. To be involved in key stages of the development lifecycle throughout the build and deployment of the software through to providing support during the life of the service. To bring coding expertise to the team, working closely with others to produce quality code that is efficient and maintainable to resolve the problem.
The Person
We are seeking a Software Developer who will work with the team to deliver coding and design. To meet the requirements for this role you will be able to carry out all appropriate build activities including design and code and continuous integration. The developer will be able to contribute to forward planning activities whilst aligning their own workload to team delivery timescales. Good communication skills are essential as part of the role together with sharing knowledge with others within the developer community of practice and beyond.
