About the role
Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit 8x SAOC Trainers.

You will be responsible to OC SAOC for training, developing and preparing future Air Ops (Control) personnel.
  • Training ab-initio RAF, RN and F & C military trainees for Terminal ATC duties using the simulator facilities provided.
  • Training RAF, RN and F & C military trainees for Area Radar duties using the simulator facilities provided (subject to Area Radar experience).
  • Providing refresher training for controllers who have been away from either the Terminal or Area Radar disciplines for an extended period.
  • Producing written reports with associated grading/scores to reflect the trainees' performances.
  • Instructing groups of trainees in the classroom environment in various subject related to the content of the course being undertaken.
  • Supervision of practical training exercises.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to be qualified in accordance with JSP 822, completed a DTTT Course (desirable), have experience of providing terminal Air Traffic Services in UK Airspace under MAA 3000 Series regulation, have experience of providing area Air Traffic Services in UK Airspace under MAA 3000 Series regulation and recent trainer experience in an ATC training environment that is acceptable to the Authority.

  • All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
