About the role
Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join our Nuclear Services division in Bristol.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager this role is a great development opportunity for a Buyer who wants to build on their experience by taking responsibility for a number of key tasks within the department.

You will work with key stakeholders, account teams and suppliers to drive operational execution of projects, bids and other critical business activities.

Your key deliverables will include:
  • Close involvement with suppliers & stakeholders to identify and implement the most cost effective and technically efficient supply solutions in respect of cost, performance, product and/or service quality and programme
  • Managing sourcing and tendering processes in accordance with agreed project and/or programme deliverables
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers to ensure that the most cost effective supply solutions are obtained;
  • Ensuring that the Company's commercial position is best protected and is properly reflected within formal subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Ensuring that all technical and quality requirements are fully satisfied and that all material and service requirements are supplied in accordance with Project programmes
  • Leading or supporting supplier performance monitoring and development initiatives


What do I need to do the role?

We would like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Held a similar role in an Engineering based industry, or similar
  • A sound understanding of end to end sourcing, and supplier management processes
  • Experience of NEC3 contracting model - essential
  • Corporate membership of CIPS is highly desirable
