Junior Mechanical Engineer

Are you a Graduate looking for your first step into an engineering career? Our client is a global working company within the Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport and Industrial markets and they are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to work within the Design and Engineering department at their facility in Totnes, Devon.

Working with the engineering team, internal production team and external sales force across all market sectors, your main function will be to support the engineering team with 2D and 3D drawing updates, drawing control, production tooling and process improvements.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Updating current 2D and 3D drawings via SolidWorks.
Support the implementation of SolidWorks PDM for drawing control.
Define mechanical tests to characterise fasteners, perform tests and document the results.
Assist with supporting quality with regards to FAIR's and PPAP documentation.
Design, develop and implement jigs and fixtures for production and inspection support.
Support sales with the introduction of new product displays for exhibitions.

Qualifications / Experience

Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
Experience with CAD software, with the preference being SolidWorks.
Sound technical and practical engineering comprehension.
Hands on application experience with knowledge of manufacturing processes preferable.
Customer focused team player with problem solving mentality.
Highly self-motivated with the ability to work under their own initiatives.
High level of competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
