To enable the smooth running of the Programme by supporting the Programme Manager through the operation of programme management processes, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf. To ultimately assist programme delivery to deliver the portfolio of transformation projects, ensuring expert support to the Programme Manager in order to deliver the Transformation Directorate roadmap efficiently and effectively.

 

Essential for the role: Key Responsibilities:

 Champion and implement programme delivery, supporting the vision to attain a world-class transformation function

 Champion and promote the use of best practice methodologies, based on the standards and guidance from the Portfolio Office

 Support communication and engagement with programme stakeholders, developing and maintaining key relationships and working in partnership to resolve problems to benefit operational policing and the MPS

 Provide technical expertise in programme support

 Manage key programme controls, including: risk and issues log, programme plan, financial tracking and forecasting, benefits tracking, actions, resource forecasting

 Deliver programme outputs and deliverables

 Support the Programme Manager to manage the programme, including set-up, management and delivery, ensuring compliance with all TD processes, standards and reporting requirements.

 Maintain a Programme Register (spreadsheet), taking information from Project Dashboards in order to populate and keep information up to date

 Enable the Programme Manager to identify and access resource requirements (including the flexible PMO resource pool)

 Manage the delivery of key outputs, managing and resolving risks and providing progress updates to the Programme Manager as required

 Support co-ordination of the programme and its interdependencies, working closely with the Programme Manager and the Project Managers within the programme

 Represent the Programme Manager where needed with authority to make delegated decisions, and be the key contact for the programme for stakeholders

 Assist and maintain appropriate systems to enable effecting planning and scheduling for the programme

 Support maintenance of the programme plan and own any risks associated with delivering to plan

 Maintain programme controls including supporting programme reporting

 Maintain the programme stakeholder log (internal and external)

 Monitor programme spend

 Manage the risk and issues log

 Record actions and manage progress against these actions

 Assist with benefits tracking

 Manage stakeholder communications and key messages for the programme

 Provide governance support to programme boards

 Provide coordination and administrative support for programme workshops

 Undertake administrative activities including file management and version control

 Manage staff where appropriate, including their development

 Manage programme based purchasing requests

 Maintain portfolio sub-register

 Support new joiner inductions
