Job Details
The Technical Lead for Information Security and Information Assurance role underpins Dstl’s license to operate and will support the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) and Principal Security Advisor (PSyA) roles in providing strategic assurance across Dstl. The role is accountable to the SIRO for the strategic direction and leadership of Dstl Information Security and Information Assurance across Dstl’s operating enterprise and environments. This role will represent Dstl interests with key external stakeholders within a set delegation.
In this role you will underpin Dstl’s license to operate and ensure that Dstl enterprise operations are conducted within the necessary control parameters and within an agreed risk appetite. You will also provide technical leadership and direction to the following range of technical security capabilities:
•Technical Assurance Team. Covering the spectrum of Security Installation design Assurance (SCIDA).
•System Operating Authority. Covering the spectrum of system operating coordination and control, accreditation management, code of connection, Vulnerability testing and remediation.
•Defensive Cyber Cell. Covering the spectrum of protective monitoring, Monitoring and Reporting cell (MRC) and Information Assurance.
Successful candidates will have the following essential technical skill and experience:
- The ability to demonstrate the application of technical knowledge covering the following aspects within a context of operating across a departmental or site scale area of responsibility: HMG STRAP Manual, JSP 440, JSP 440 STRAP Supplement and JSP 640
- An understanding of HMG IT security controls preferably within a defence or security environment at all classifications.
- Exposure and experience of risk management across an enterprise IT environment.
- The delivery of advice in the context of a compliance or quality controlled service for high classification HMG environments.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and developing risk-balanced solutions to complex problems.
- The ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of both HMG and MoD security policy for network security, IA and Defensive Cyber issues.
- Experience of leading technical decision making on technical security related issues in a complex risk environment.
