Senior Estimator

Do you want to be part of a Commercial team supporting business winnings and managing contracts? Our defence engineering and electronic products client in Loudwater is seeking a Senior Estimator to be the lead estimator on large, complex & high value projects.

In this role you will be working closely with the Projects, Sales, and Marketing, Procurement and Engineering teams. As Senior Estimator you will be responsible for coordinating and preparing estimates to support the business, and in particular large and complex projects.

You will improve estimating efficiency through proper usage of tools available to the Company and provide detailed and accurate cost estimates with clear rationale.

As Senior Estimator your responsibilities will include:

Responsible for the estimating input for major tenders and preparing proposals. The role will involve providing estimating input to all areas of the Company thus ensuring that all cost and commercial inputs are effectively supported.
Act as lead estimator in producing detailed cost estimates that fulfil customer requirements.
Ensure estimates are developed, reviewed and submitted on time.
Provide detailed information breakdown including NRE, materials, labour, contingencies, and provenance of estimates etc.
Highlight any risks

About you:

This role is office-based but you must have a willingness for UK and overseas travel on occasion
Previous experience in a relevant and similar role is required, ideally as an Estimator within a manufacturing or production environment
Degree level qualification or equivalent relevant experience is desirable
Approachable and flexible nature
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
