We are currently recruiting for interesting and exciting positions at the Home Office. The Home Office keeps the UK secure and prosperous; protects its citizens, residents and visitors and their property; and upholds rights, liberties and the rule of law. Leading on immigration and passports, drugs policy, crime and fire policy, counter-terrorism and work to ensure visible, responsive and accountable policing in the UK.

The role will ensure that the PMO runs smoothly across a range of activity including

Planning and scheduling
*Implement and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling.

Monitoring and Reporting

*Establish and maintain project controls, keeping the project manager aware of the project status.
*Manage and monitor compliance of the project with Departmental Security, Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Business Continuity and Business Planning.
*Implement and maintain the project file management using robust version control and ensure documentation is stored in compliance with HO Security and Access processes.

*Lead a team responsible for identifying, developing and deploying resources.
*Manage workforce planning, providing information for effective decision making to the Project Manager.
*Procurement of supplies and services related to project support within Delegated Financial Authority limits.
*Manage the PMO team and project support officers
*Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact for some external parties.
*Draft and sign-off correspondence.

Financial and commercial Control
*Monitor project spend and contribute to the compilation of budgets and the development of the business case.
*Ensure an accurate asset register is maintained.
*Monitor commercial activity and ensures invoices are validated and paid.

Risk and Issues
*Manage potential risk areas, working with risk managers and escalating as appropriate.

*Experience working in Government or large and highly regulated environments.
*Experience working in a complex organisation including working directly with a variety and range of non-technical stakeholders.
*Experience in managing major Network engineering and transformation portfolio management office.
*PRINCE2 and MSP or equivalent project management qualification.
*Delivering complex data to senior leaders.
