Scrum Master - Contract - London - £643 per day - DV or Willing to Undergo

The team is responsible for a range of software applications that is operational within a broad range of architectures, by a number of customers, across countries throughout the world and is used for; military operations, homeland defence, crisis management and conflict resolution.

The scrum master role will cover a number of the following responsibilities:

  • Serving and supporting the Product Owner(s) and a Scrum team in their quest to build new products;
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team, project and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization;
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment;
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving;
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work;
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution;
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information;
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining (aka grooming) and managing the product backlog;
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of engineering activities;
  • Assist with estimating of engineering work packages and other activities;

Scrum Master Skills / Experience:

  • Experience working in software development
  • Desire to implement new ways of working and "out of the box" thinking
  • Competent with running Agile ceremonies, e.g. stand- ups, retrospectives, reviews, task breakdown
  • Ability to negotiate up to C-Suite level
  • Inherent ability to lead and utilise a high performing team

Essential criteria for Scrum Master:

  • Experience working in software development
  • Desire to implement new ways of working and "out of the box" thinking
  • Competent with running Agile ceremonies, e.g. stand- ups, retrospectives, reviews, task breakdown
  • Ability to negotiate up to C-Suite level
  • Inherent ability to lead and utilise a high performing team
