About the role

Provide senior leadership and be part of Cavendish Nuclear's senior team. Set the strategic direction for Cavendish Nuclear security. Direct and manage the Security function. Overall responsibility for providing the business with appropriate security framework and culture across physical, personal and cyber & information assurance, ensuring it remains compliant with Babcock Group, legislation, customer and/or site requirements and providing support to implement and assure this.

Principle Tasks

  • Identify and develop an appropriate strategy to ensure the business meets its legal & internal requirements as well as its goals and desire for continuous improvement
  • Identify, put in place and lead the required security organisation across Cavendish Nuclear to deliver security to the appropriate standard
  • Ensuring appropriate procedures and documentation exist to enable the strategy to be realized;
  • Review, inspect and audit to identify where the strategy, processes and culture are fully embedded or require support
  • Provide support to embed including identifying and implementing where education and awareness training is required.
  • Promote a strong security culture,
  • Set standards expectations on security and liaise with senior stakeholders across Cavendish Nuclear to affect culture change and embedding of security requirements
  • Incorporating security into the business including delivery of client work and supply chain management
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, developing a good working relationship.
  • Provide advice, support and guidance to the business on security.
  • Routinely report on security matters including performance and direction.
  • Provide security investigations where customer and regulatory requirements have been breached or where the impact of the incident is significant enough to impact the wider business.
  • Keep an over view of security events and developments to identify and promulgate Learning From Experience as well as Continuous Improvement
  • Develop, manage and deliver Security improvement programmes in order to improve overall Cavendish Nuclear security performance
  • Represent security at required meetings internally, externally and within Babcock Group

What do I need to do the role?

Knowledge of:

  • Highly regulated industry security regulatory requirements and supporting policy frameworks/standards.

Experience of:

  • Significant security experience preferably gained within a similar role in the nuclear or other regulated industry

Other

  • Willing to travel to locations / sites throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.

What else do I need to know?
