EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Service Asset and License Technician to join a large team, based on site at an important and large scale Defence sector customer.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a very complex and rewarding environment on an IT site that offers cutting edge technologies.

This contract is for an initial six months, with the option to extend beyond that.

Role Review

An opportunity has arisen for a Service Asset and Licence Technician to enhance their Licensing Knowledge and skills working on a challenging and rewarding site. Currently holding SC Clearance or eligible to undergo vetting to achieve SC Clearance. This role is to assist in achieving compliance across the licence database and Client sites reporting directly to the Service Asset and Licence Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with Daily management of the SACM team licensing call queue
  • Responsibility for the licence content within the Licence Management Database (LMDB) and the Electronic Definitive Media Library (eDML) ensuring content is accurate, concise and complete
  • Reconciliation of licence information, installed software vs consumed software against actual entitlement
  • Keep track of software maintenance agreements, in collaboration with Procurement Team, to ensure that expiry dates are not exceeded and renewals are dealt with promptly and effectively
  • Assist in highlighting potential areas of consolidation leading to cost reduction for the client, the outcomes managed through the change process
  • Provide input with the validation of All Asset registers and Configuration databases

Essential skills

  • Knowledge of one or more of the major Software Publishing houses
  • An understanding of Supplier Management
  • An understanding of customer relationship and management
  • Previous experience in a Service Management role
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Technical Skills

  • ITIL Foundation Certificate v2 or v3
  • Experience with Windows 7 or Windows 10

Desired Skills

  • A basic understanding of LAN/WAN technologies
  • A basic understanding of OS and Application Virtualisation technologies
  • SC Cleared, or willing to undergo appropriate vetting to achieve SC Clearance
  • Experience in Licence Management and managing assets in a complex IT Support environment
