We are looking for an experienced facilitator to design and deliver the Joint Science & Technology (S&T) Capability Assurance Plan and important review events including External Review Colleges and Programme Deep Dives.

This role is vital and you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our independent external reviews remain honest, impartial, objective, trustworthy and robust.

Through analysis of the assurance activities you will identify issues and risks, and make recommendations to improve the health of the S&T capabilities required by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and wider security network.

Who are we looking for?

To make an impact in this role you’ll need to have existing knowledge of facilitation and knowledge capture techniques. This includes the planning and implementing large scale review events involving multiple participants.

You should have a good understanding of science and technology capabilities, which you can use to take actions and recommendations from the reviews conducted and produce insights systematic of capability stewardship.

Experience of using your excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills. You should be comfortable with analysing qualitative and quantitative information to provide insights and get your message across to a diverse audience.

In this role you will:

•             Build on existing processes and methods for assuring the health of the S&T capabilities inside Dstl and within our external supply base, including developing benefits realisation.

•             Build good relationships with the panel members and ensure they understand what is expected from the reviews.

•             Design and deliver the assurance review facilitation plan.

•             Support Dstl divisions and external suppliers to prepare review material to the right quality through review and advice.

•             Lead the facilitation of the assurance reviews without influencing outputs, ensuring that scores, trends, strengths and weaknesses, and recommendations are captured.

•             Lead the facilitation of the action reviews to generate responses to assurance recommendations, ensuring these are understood by the action owners.

•             Write a formal report for each review including an analytical assessment of the findings.

•             Track the progress of the responses to the assurance review recommendations, and escalate risks appropriately.
