Security Architect & Engineers develop data products in our Centre of Data Excellence (CoDE), developing solutions to operational problems to identify 
and pursue Serious Organised Criminality. 
You will be at the heart of the NCA, driving intelligence led approaches for threat assessment, use of data to identify serious organised crime 
and solve serious organised crime. 
Security Architect Data Engineers develop new approaches to policing, 
supporting operational teams to work in new ways with data and tools.

Job description

Support multi-functional team to advise, quality assure, develop and deliver strategic and tactical data services to operational challenges. 
Define detailed requirements for secure systems including use cases, feature specifications and environmental requirements. 
Develop and build internal and external partner relations working collaboratively to foster good relations. 
Work collaboratively with the service support and infrastructure teams and non-technical user groups.. 
Advise and oversee security elements of data solutions. 
To manage the lifecycle of own projects and those of others including design, testing, change, deployment and acceptance management. 
Research new technologies and equipment relevant to the business 
area, identifying new tools and techniques. 
Manage/coach staff and develop staff in new ways of working with data. 
Oversee the quality, secure handling and dissemination of data/information, in line with Agency policy.
 

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will have strong security and data skills in combined with areas of deeper knowledge of technologies and practice, broad understanding of data management, and strong stakeholder and consultative skills. 
Expertise in programming, data, security. Knowledge of application development in a classified environment.
